Background,
On Saturday (7 October), in an act of war, hundreds of terrorists infiltrated Israel at a number of locations and at the same time, massive rocket barrages were launched at Israeli territory.
Thus far, more than 1,300 people have been brutally murdered and more than 3,500 wounded to varying degrees. It is also reported that over 150 people are classified as missing or captives after being kidnapped and taken to Gaza. There is reason to believe that these figures will continue to rise. This is the highest number of Jews slaughtered in a single day since the Holocaust.
This is a very sad and heavy moment for all of us.
From what we have seen in the South, the rules of the game have changed! the terrorists are trained and equipped by Iran with the latest equipment and physical skills. They prepared for infiltration from the sea, the air, and the land simultaneously.
In light of the difficult sights and stories from the south, a different preparation is required this time. Not only missile defense but also preparation for terrorist infiltration and takeover of buildings or entire settlements. Therefore, the city of Nahariya decided to establish a new emergency response team to protect the city.
Since Saturday 7 of October, over 700 volunteers have been recruited from the city's residents, some carrying weapons.
The emergency response team's mission is to act quickly in an initial response to a security incident until additional forces arrive. The team consists of Nahariya residents who have undergone special training, and their role is to bridge the time gap created from the moment an incident is announced until the arrival of the security forces and to assist the security forces after their arrival.
At the moment Nahariya is quiet but tense. Everything can change in a matter of hours.
We all hope it will remain quiet and we all support the IDF to do whatever it takes to protect Israel.
We are sure Hamas and all terrorist organizations will pay heavily for their actions.
